In August 2017 my dad Jerry went in to have a mass removed from his bladder. He was rushed to the hospital when he bled out and stayed there to recover. For two years he fought bladder cancer over and over. He suffered from MRSA, sepsis, and CDFF during his fight. All of this happened while he was mourning the loss of my mom in January 2018. There were many times he wanted to quit and give up but he persevered and lived until December 2019 when he went home to be with the Lord. I will be forever grateful for the time that I had with my dad and pray that the parents of children suffering from cancer are offered this same gift. That is why I ride each and every year! Not because I can even comprehend what it's like to be a parent of a child with cancer but to offer them a glimmer of hope with further research. I love and miss you every day dad!
