When my daughter was 18 months old, she was diagnosed with a rare type of cancer. At the time, the five-year survival rate for kids with this cancer was just 20%. But thanks to research, that survival rate has now increased to 80%.

My daughter was one of the lucky ones. She survived cancer thanks to the research that was done before she was diagnosed, but still she had to go through an entire year of aggressive treatments with a lot of ups and downs that almost took her out of this world.

And she was lucky, but there are still so many kids out there who are not so lucky, treatments are long and sometimes very aggressive. Research is being done to develop new ways to prevent cancer, to make cancer treatment less harsh, and to help children with cancer cope with the emotional and social impact of their illness.

For that reason, I'm riding in the Great Cycle Challenge. I'm asking for your support to help fund more research into childhood cancer. Every dollar you donate will help save the lives of children like my daughter, it will also help to improve the quality of life for children with cancer and their families.
