My Story

This September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

I found cycling in 2020 as a way to maintain sobriety from alcohol as well as fitness throughout the COVID 19 Pandemic. Riding for others motivated me every time I hit the road, and taking part in the GCC allowed me to join a supportive community who taught me the ropes of road cycling. Last year I proudly raised over $2,600 for The Children’s Cancer Research Fund and have faith I can do even better this year.

I’m currently 8+ months post COVID infection and still have not fully recovered. I haven’t been on my bike since October 2020, but I have been looking forward to getting healthy enough to help others again.

I don’t know how much gas I’ll have in the tank in September for the official challenge, but I’ll ride as much as I can for this cause and to continue on my path of recovery.
