I'm Riding For
Leona (2019-2024) #UNDIAGNOSABLE
My Story
This September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge for the fourth year in a row! If you know me already, I ride for many reasons, including children diagnosed, undiagnosed and those who are undiagnosable. I have been riding and bringing awareness since my youngest cousin was brought into this world and was a pure medical mystery. She was a little girl they could not diagnose. One of my youngest little cousins, at a very young age was placed in multiple programs, including the undiagnosable network. She fought hard until her passing right before her 5th birthday. Leona was a beautiful girl, so for me the Great Cycle Challenge stands for many things, ultimately the children. With that, I will be spinning my way past my goal! Which is many more miles than I typically pledge. However, every 100 is for my angel cousin in heaven, Leona.
Right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. If you did not already know, I am a special education teacher and have worked with all populations. I have a huge heart for my students and children everywhere! Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it. WE NEED A CURE FOR ALL DIAGNOSIS! Let’s do this - I need your help!
I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
Please support me by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve, all children!
Your support will change little lives.
Thank you.
