UPDATE!

On September 7, 2024, on my 7th day of riding, I was attacked by a dog that caused a serious crash. I sustained the expected road rash on my arms and legs, however, I also suffered bruised ribs and a fractured femur. After my ER treatment and visiting my orthopaedic doctor, my orders are to be non-weight bearing on my right leg for a minimum of three weeks and possibly more. This outcome effectively eliminates my ability to ride and complete my commitment. I made a good start as I completed 31 miles over the first six days and one more mile before the dog attack and crash. My brother has offered to ride proxy for me and complete the other 43 miles! So, I hope you will still consider supporting this worthy cause!

This September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.

On Saturday night, August 31, I had resigned myself to skipping the 2024 Great Cycle Challenge. At the 11th hour on Sunday afternoon, I changed my mind and decided to go for it. So I did my first ride on Sunday, September 1 and now fast forwarding to Friday, when I completed my sixth consecutive day of riding for total of 31 miles!
