Stan Hartnett (Dad)

My Dad bravely fought and beat cancer for 7years by never allowing it to steal his spirit and joy for living and loving us. Through all that he endured his smile and laugh let me know just how courageous and strong he was. Dad will always be my hero! We lost him Feb 7th 2024 but gained an angel in heaven. When I’m riding I’m thinking of him and how he’s no longer hurting and stronger than ever! I can’t wait to see him again! I love you Dad!

My Story

This is my 8th year to ride for GCCUSA- I’m excited and motivated as I am every year to be involved with such a great organization.

Cancer sucks- it’s impacted way too many people who I love and has cut the lives short of some very important people to me.

As a parent, I couldn’t imagine watching my child go through this and that’s why we do what we do.

While this is all about the kids who I am extremely motivated and passionate about I am also inspired by my Dad who’s life was cut short in February of this year after a 7 year battle with cancer. My family and I were with him just hours before he left us and his smile and laughter was evidence that cancer did not take away his joy and his spirit for life. We miss him but rest in the knowledge that we will see him again!
