I'm Riding For
James McCollom
My Story
Specifically, I'm riding in honor of my brother-in-law, James McCollum, along with Jen and Robin. I was never able to meet him, but I like to think that we'd be friends. Perhaps on the level of "those two together need adult supervision."
But more importantly, I'm riding for my kids, Logan and Liam Moody. Because of cancer, they only know of their "Uncle James" in the past tense. They know that on July 6 we celebrate his life by drinking Coca-Cola with grenadine and eating Rice-A-Roni, while we listen to Jen, Robin and friends tell crazy stories. They know that there's a plaster cast of him giving Jen the finger in her truck. And they know that Elvira is one of the last living links that Jen has to her younger bro.
All their memories of their uncle are sadly retold ones. They never got the opportunity to make ones themselves which, if half the tales of his shenanigans are true, might be a good thing. I can only imagine the amount of trouble that the three of them would've gotten into.

This September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!
Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
Please support me by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.
Your support will change little lives.
Thank you.
