My Story
This September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!
Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
Please support me by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.
Your support will change little lives.
Thank you.

Final stretch. Going to finish my last few mills at home
1 Oct 2024I luckily had the day off and was able to go for a long ride. 32 miles. If I can get a few extra miles in my stationary bike I’ll make my goal on miles. But if not, I’m just grateful I was able to go as far as I did and help with what I’ve done by doing what I love. This was another great year
Thanks for riding with me

Attempted a double marathon
26 Sep 2024I burnt out trying to get 52 miles but it was dark rainy and lots of mooose I’m Alaska this time of year. Been doubling down at the gym after my morning rides. Even if I don’t hit my mile goal. Im having fun doing what I love with a little extra passion behind each peddle. With the excessive rain and work I’m just glad I’m able to give back even a little and do so with my passion for cycling. Thanks for riding with me

Circle ⭕️ round and round
17 Sep 2024I feel so silly for not teaching all my rides this season properly. I forget to turn on the tracker for GCC and left my Fitbit on the charger but was able to do the circle from town to town down bridge access this morning which equals 21-22 miles. I had gone on a few short rides the last few days as well, just 3-4 miles a hand full of time as well I will calculate and add later. Because of work, I’ve only gone on short rides this week. 3 days or 3-4 miles so I’ll manually enter approximately 9 miles for those as well. And try to be more mindful of tracking on the GCC app

Short ride after work
10 Sep 2024I keep forgetting to track my miles on the GCC app and my Fitbit wasn’t logged into fitness tracker and didn’t get my miles but it was about 13 and 2/3 miles but to stay fair I logged 12 because though I know the mile markers I don’t want to over estimate either.

Home ride on a rainy day
6 Sep 2024With the fall rain in Alaska 🍁 🌧️ I’m very grateful to have my stationary bike to get my miles in. It always surprises me the difference in home ride vs peddle bike. On my peddle bike, I can easily get gwt 10+ miles in 50min-an hour without breaking a sweat. But on my stationary bike, it takes 10x the effort and more time. I love the difference. Hopefully we get a clearing and the skies clear up for today

Bike repairs
3 Sep 2024Today I planned on a 45 miles ride but because I didn’t pack properly, I wasn’t prepared for mishaps. I had tightened everything before leaving this morning but after 37 miles I lost a screw for my kick stand and didn’t have anything to tie it up. And had to calll for a ride home. Determined to get at least 40 miles in today I decided to take the kick stand off at home and go for another short ride around town to enjoy the sun and finished my ride. Very determined for a personal best this season. Let’s gear up and get closer to 60 miles next time. But next time, I’ll remember to bring tools. I’m lucky it didn’t happen to far away as I was 20+ miles out of town and thought I was technically only 7 miles from home, I was taking the long way to get more miles. It was in fact the perfect break I needed after riding through 2 rain storms and reaching my tired point before getting back on.
Thanks for riding with me

Thank you all
2 Sep 2024I would like to thank everyone who has supported my ride in the last 3 years. Sincerely, every penny and every prayer greatly impacts a child’s life. It is such a honor to put a little every passion behind each peddle and know, we’re making a difference in so many precious lives. I am also proud to say the sweet angel I’m riding for is now in remission and I am so overwhelmingly happy for her and her family. Just the thought makes my eyes swell with tears. I’ve known many to battle with cancer and not every care ends so happily and every person ridding is giving millions of family hope for the future. Thank you for riding with me.
