This September, I am walking 50 miles to aid in the fight against kids' cancer!

Cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week. I believe that human life is so precious, and children deserve to live!

I am walking in memory of two people this September.

One is my uncle Jason, my mom's twin brother, who died of Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma when they were only four years old. I've always wished that his life had not been taken so soon from this world. I've often wondered what he would be like, the memories that could have made, the impact that his spirit could have had on those around him. I am confident that he now rests with God.

The second person is Isabella of the Golden Heart, as we fondly call her, a 17-year-old girl and fellow Seton student-author, who died of a DIPG brain tumor in the spring of '20. I did not know her well at the time, but I have learned so much about her beautiful spirit and kind heart from other teens who were blessed to call her friend. This September, I am raising funds through my challenge to help other kids going through cancer, to give them a better chance at life. These funds will go to Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
