Sandy Tribble
This year I am riding in memory of my grandfather Sandy Tribble, who passed away August of 2019 from cancer. Sandy was a huge supporter of mine when I started riding bicycles. A couple years ago I put my new Giant bicycle on a layaway plan and started making payments on it. A few weeks later, the store called and informed me someone walked in and payed it off in full, stating I could come pick it up anytime... My grandpa never admitted to doing this but I am certain he was the only person that understood how much I enjoyed this hobby and the good that can come from it! Thank you Grandpa, Love ya!
My Story
This September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!
Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.

1 Oct 2024Well, I made it 172 miles into this thing.. I started a few days late and I came up a few miles (27) short of finishing by the last day of September.. Thankfully GCC is leaving the page open throughout the first week of October to continue to raise last minute donations and allow riders to log their last miles.. I’ve been a little out of commission the past couple days, just feeling kind of under the weather but I’m going to wrap up these last few miles within the next few days and if my calculations are correct(lol) since I started on the 4th I will still have ridden 200 miles in 30 days… I mean that’s one way of looking at it.. 🤣 Okay okay okay, no excuses, I’m going to get them knocked out asap… 🤙🚴♂️

26 Sep 2024Knocked down 20 more miles tonight! 69 miles left to go.. The first five miles felt rough getting my legs going.. The next ten were fairly well but those last five, yeah, I had to push through those.. My legs are sore and that saddle has my ass chapped! lol
I’m getting closer to that goal though.. 🤙🚴♂️

25 Sep 2024Ride #9 was just a little stroll through a bunch of empty parking lots around Blue Springs after work.. Had to spin out a few because we’re coming down to the wire.. Definitely feeling some soreness so I had to push through this bit of work tonight. I’m still confident and I have the next four days to really put in some more work.. Ran into a small storm that slowed me down a tad tonight but I’m happy with the ride, it was relaxing.. We even achieved the $500 goal but I still encourage you to donate more if you can.. Anyways, good talk!😉🤙🚴♂️

I slept the majority of the day and then finished up a good audio book while knocking down today’s 15 mile ride..

20 Sep 2024Man, it’s a hot one out there today! Had to push myself through 15 miles but we knocked them down and have rolled away a total of 86 miles at this point.. I’m gonna have to buckle down and pick up the pace these next couple weeks.. I’m confident though, but I won’t lie, my butt is sore and my legs are burning!! lol

11 Sep 2024I’m 50 miles into this challenge and have been using my TikTok @bigtribbs82 to document all of my rides with my relive app. I attempted to use the ride tracker on this app but it has been very inaccurate the past two rides.. You can also view my rides on my Facebook page as well.. I definitely appreciate those of you who have donated and are supporting me as I challenge myself to complete this goal. The GCC is a fun experience that so many cyclists take part in because the money that is raised really goes towards helping kids who are fighting cancer. If you’re skeptical about donating, please just take a little time to research the organization and see for yourself.
