My Story

Last year, my family was hit with a stage 4 cancer diagnosis. Seeing how this event has impacted my family has been a truly harrowing experience, but seeing how this terrible event has brought us closer together has been extremely heartening.

I’m riding to raise awareness that cancer touches us all - maybe not directly, but definitely closer to home than we think it does.

I started with the GCC to give myself a reason to keep my mileage on the bike up, but now I come back every year to raise awareness that there is hope with every diagnosis.

Childhood cancer is another animal entirely. Nobody - least of all kids - should have to live with this diagnosis. So this year I’m riding for kids, and I’m riding for Mike. Love you, brother.

    This year I'm riding in my 8th GCC. This year I'll also be (hopefully) completing my second full-distance triathlon at Ironman Chattanooga in September.

    My goal for my GCC2024 ride is 300 miles and $500. To kick off this year, I've already completed a century ride and thrown in my own $100 donation.

    I love to see how much this Challenge has grown since my first year participating and it's great to see the number of GCC jerseys I see out in my own cycle areas.
