Watching my Dad battle cancer was the hardest period of my life. I prayed every night that somehow I could connect my heart to his and give him a much needed rest while my heart beat for his. I know that's a silly thing to wish for, but watching someone you love battle cancer, leaves you feeling completely helpless.

My Dad's passing was untimely and left those whose lives he touched feeling broken and empty inside. One thing that I take comfort in is that he lived a good life. He had many wonderful experiences and lived life to the fullest, he even lived long enough to see all four of his kids have children of their own and continue his legacy.

As a father I can't imagine the heartbreak and stress that comes with watching your own child suffer. That's why it's so important to me to help.

Today, I pledge 2.25 million heartbeats, 1000 miles, 60+ hours to raise money to provide resources for the people working so hard to find a cure for cancer. Today my heart beats for them!
