I wasn't planning on riding in "The Great Cycle Challenge" this year because I hate asking for donations to meet my goals.

The Challenge is for raising money for children's cancer. It's something I enjoy doing and I've participated for 6 years already, the last three years in a row.

I know I'll be able to do the miles, it's the raising money part I hate.

I've ridden over 3000 miles and raised over $6000 in all the years I've been riding.

This year it's a little different though.

This year it hits home.

I know it's for children's cancer, but when it hits your own child, even though she's an adult, she's still my child, and it sucks even more.

So it's in her name, Casie Darnell, that I'll be riding through the month of September.

My goal is to ride at least 300 miles and raise over $1000.
