I wanted to thank all of the people and organizations who sponsored me in my fight against kids cancer for the children’s cancer research fund. I am truly blessed to be surrounded by so many amazing people. I’m sitting down catching my breath while trying to rest and make it home after riding 14 miles on some unexpected hills. I burned a lot of energy on those hills and grabbed a chocolate croissant from my local coffee shop and a big ice water to keep me hydrated. Again please let me extend my thanks on behalf of children everywhere who have faced cancer and those that may face it in the future. These kids should be enjoying life, not fighting for it.
This is my 6th year participating in the Great cycle challenge and I’m going to begin by setting my goals. I’ve been training on my Trek Marlin 6 MTB since early February learning more about my health and cycling fitness and beginning my journey as a YouTube content creator focused on cycling for health. My goal in miles is to reach 300 miles in the month of September for the challenge. This will push me hard to average 10 miles a day with obstacles like medical appointments, various meetings, studying, work and weather. That means I’ll have at least 30 hours of cycling if not longer in order to reach my goal. Additionally I would like to raise $500 towards this cause because I have never raised this much, but I have ridden the miles I set out to do. I’d like to reach this amount because they would consider me a hero and send me a cycling jersey for my achievements. I would love to be considered a hero by these precious children battling cancer. I hope we can reach an amount that helps put a dent into research ways to fight cancer head on so the kids won’t have such a tough journey. They deserve a chance at living a life, not worrying about if they will make it. Today was the first day and I got rained out but I made a small dent by reaching 11 miles.
