Yesterday while I was having lunch, Christian’s grandparents texted me an update that his dad sent them:
The surgeon has reported that the piece of bone excised from his tibia showed that over 90% of the cancer cells were killed off by the chemo and the margins are clear! His dad says that this news was “the only birthday present he wanted this year”!

Christian’s family has given me permission to share this update:
On Friday April 12, Christian underwent surgery to excise the tumor in his tibia and perform a bone graft. Both went well and his doctors have said the tumor appeared to be dead, but it will be another week or two before we find out if the margins are clear. The next day, he was wide awake, alert, and engaging with his nurses, against expectations that he would be “foggy” from the anesthesia. He is anxious to get out of bed and start physical therapy, and back to playing on his PS5.
