Today is the last day of the GCC, and I made all my goals. THANKS TO YOU!! I rode over 128 miles in one month, 30 days ... with few days of rest in between. It's been fun to see how far I ride. I will continue on, too. Need to get the bike serviced as there was a squeaky sound today. Maybe it needs a tuneup. The SIKK bike has never had one in 4 years owning it.
Until next year ... again, THANK YOU! 😘
I only have 21 miles to reach my goal, but the actual goal was to get OVER 100 miles. I only missed I day due to being in Marana and only got on the bike for a very short time, strolled around the hood. I enjoy riding in the neighbors more than the main streets. I am timid as cars pass me even though there is a bike lane, and if there is not a bike lane, I am on the sidewalk! For those who ride miles on these streets - kudos to you! It's scary! I do like that Chandler has the canal for us to ride too. I was hoping to stretch my length of miles to 10 by months end, but I think 5 to 6 miles will be what I do. 11 more to go! And the other goal $1000 ... so close! I will do a count down on last three to five days and once I reach 100 miles to get the last few dollars needed.
Day 10 is also Match Up Tuesday ...well, that's what I am calling it!
I want to THANK YOU FOR DONATING and helping this great cause!!
I do this because I want to help raise money, and it's a motivation to get on that darn bike! Getting a different type of exercise instead of walking at least a st 20 minutes a day has been a challenge, I don't like exercising, but give me a reason, and I will do it!
I am almost to my first goal in raising money, and I am halfway to making it to 100 miles. I changed a bit during this first week, depending on the wind speed and my busy schedule for the day. The reason why I ride for a minimum of 20 minutes and strive to ride at least 30 minutes.
I am starting to see the same people out there, walking, jogging, riding bikes, and even some on electric bikes (figured they are going to work or school and their means of transportation). It's time to get out there, loves ... we have enjoyed some beautiful mornings (less the breezy days).
I wish I could add the photos of my map of riding my bike. I do both this app and the Samsung Health app that I have always used. The Samsung health app is right on the dot on my ride, plus it gives my heart rate, speed, and more. When I used this app in the past, I often wondered if it was correct and it is NOT CORRECT. One day, it showed I rode less than 2 miles, and the map was a triangle. That means I rode the bike OVER HOUSES AND a SCHOOL!! LOL!! So if you are doing this ride, use another app to record your real miles
So far so good ... I have been getting on the bike every day - 4 days straight. Hope to continue on! I find the tracker on this app does not work and luckily I have been using my Samsung Health exercise app as it gives the map of where I road, plus distance and heart rate. This 61 yr old, needs to add more to it. Seems I average 9 mph on the SIKK bike. Once I get my other bike repaired, I may be able to add more miles and do better. My goal is to ride 100 miles in 30 days ... I am at 22 miles now ... I do need to skip a few days but I feel I can do this!
