Wow! I woke up Wednesday morning to find that I was matched at over $1500! I had some incredible friends and businesses come through to get me to almost 9500! I’d like to go out at $10 grand. What a gift!
Today was an absolutely perfect day for riding. The weather was in the low 70’s with a slight breeze, and I felt great. I was able to ride 25 miles before my butt finally said “ok, that’s enough”. Well, let’s be truthful, I don’t have a talking butt (how weird would that be?) but if it could talk, that’s what it would say. I feel confident that I will reach my mileage goal.
We took the road less traveled yesterday, in hopes of avoiding traffic. It was rough. Hills like a roller coaster. I will not be taking that road again, traveled or not! After all that we still only managed 7 miles!
We are coming up on September first and the kick off for the Challenge! I plan on getting out there bright and early (or dull and late, depending on the weather!😝) Regardless of how many miles we ride, it’s all to bring attention to the fight that these precious kids have to fight every day until we get a cure. Your donation is so valuable!
Whoo hoo! I’ve made it over halfway, reaching super hero status and earning that awesome SH jersey! If you are reading this, it means you are considering a donation or have already made one. Thank you for reading, and thank you for giving! Children all over the country thank you!
I have finally felt well enough to get back on the bike, and today was my first ride in a while: 15 miles through Research Park. It was actually pretty pleasant, since the rain had cooled things down considerably. I also met the little girl that I am sponsoring: Zelié Duquette. She’s pretty awesome. Read her story in my profile.
Well, after dealing with gall bladder surgery and now a second turn in the hospital for my husband, not to mention the oppressive heat, I haven’t had a chance to get in any warm up rides. Here’s the thing though- yes, it’s a biking challenge, and I plan on riding, but first and foremost it is a fundraiser, and I hope the miles won’t stand in the way of the donations.
Help me kick off the 2024 Great Cycle Challenge with a donation to help find cure through Children’s Cancer Research Fund.
