What do you think? For me, the beauty was worth it. Staying inside would have been easier (100-degree heat again today), but a trio of raccoons welcomed me as I entered the refuge, and tonight’s sunset didn't disappoint. #sunsets #gravelbike #taketimetobreathe
Today’s gravel ride was slower, partly because it takes more effort to ride on gravel and partly because the perspective is so different from riding on the familiar road. Highlights included watching a bald eagle fly, spotting red algae in the lake, and noticing the extraordinary in the ordinary. #grateful #birdflight #effort
With an upcoming orchestra concert and three recitals this month featuring Bach, Beethoven, and Shostakovich, I'm trying to log my miles early. Mornings are much cooler for riding, and I’m encountering fewer bugs! Each day at the refuge brings something new. Today was a little breezy, and I saw more people than birds, deer, or alligators. #seeyoulateralligator
I just raised $500 to fight kids' cancer and achieved GUARDIAN LEVEL in the challenge! Thank you so much for your support.
I enjoyed my first-ever morning ride at Noxubee. The magically mirrored light and animals around Bluff Lake were just as spectacular as at sunset. Today, I saw a deer, alligators, and, since it's migration season, a magnificent blue heron, flocks of egrets, some cardinals, a barred owl, and dancing gallinules. We are so lucky to have this refuge nearby! #mirrormirror #gratefulheart #beautifulnature
