• Every Little Bit Helps
    11 Sep 2024

Working both jobs today and trying to balance my rides as to not overwork my left hip. Did 30 minutes in the condo parking lot and got 3.28 miles.

I also want to thank you all who have sponsored me yesterday’s contributions received an 84% match so I received an additional $253.00. I have surpassed my goal of $1000.00 but as the title says every little bit helps.

  • Day 4
    6 Sep 2024

Got a later start today, and the humidity is sneaking in, but managed to go to Independence Park to visit mom’s memorial bench. The bike path was quieter than yesterday. My guess it was lunch time and as I said more humid than yesterday.

Another donation received today over the $600 mark and closing in on 50miles.

  • Day 3 and 13 more miles
    5 Sep 2024

Back on the bike today headed south to Colt and Independence Parks. The weather was perfect clear blue skies and a lovely breeze. I headed south to Colt and independence Parks. There was very little traffic on the path, kids are back to school so only a few of the diehards are left.

If you’re ever in the East Bay and haven’t walked, run or ridden the bike path do it! The views are amazing and lots of interesting places to stop. Today I finally got a Del’s lemonade, my reward for 13 miles bringing my total to 37 for the week.

Thanks again for all your support!

Done forget to donate or share my page.

  • Thoughts From The Saddle
    2 Sep 2024

Ride one and two are in the books, or at least in the app!

Yesterday’s ride was 6 miles on a stationary bike, it gave me time to watch a YouTube video of Deepak Chopra on meditation and quantum theory ( a bit deep ) but it was great to watch , yet feel guilty for not being totally present, a lot of irony with this ride!

It did give me pause to reflect ( no traffic to worry about) how cycling in one place is a bit like living life with a limited view. For instance when we are sick and unable to go out and do as we please having to stay indoors. How do we live this way? My best guess is through our thoughts we can create a space in which we can be happy. Children do this naturally. I recall being home sick and making a tent in the living room, creating all sorts of adventures. Our minds are limitless. We have all the tools all we need to do is sit and practice, being present.

As for today in the saddle on the bike path I took a bit of what I learned from yesterday and practiced being present. The irony was I was in one place in the saddle yet simultaneously in many places with the bike…
