I did my Ph. D in cancer research and worked at M.D. Anderson Cancer research. I understand how important innovation of new drugs and molecules for cancer treatment through research efforts is. Most of us have seen cancer impact our lives and families in some way, but you are never quite prepared to hear that diagnosis for someone you love. The news really shook our family when my sister, Rupal Patel diagnosed in 2023 with Uterine sarcoma which was metastasised in lungs and spine. In September 2023, in memory of Rupal Patel, I rode 216 miles cycle and able to raise $3766 with your help for children’s cancer research to provide critical funding to the best and brightest research investigators! I understood the fear and uncertainty that so many families face in those moments. A lung cancer diagnosis can be even more shocking when my best friend Renuka is recently diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer, she has never smoked in her life, but you will surprise to learn that this is true for 20 percent of all lung cancer diagnoses. That fact is part of what motivated me to help spread the message that this can truly happen to anyone, and it is up to all of us collectively to act and find a cure. This September 2024, I will be riding to continue to increase funding to support Renuka’s fight to combat her disease and overcome side effects of the treatment. Riding cycle for fund raising is my way to motivate myself to support her morally so as Renuka and her family stay positive and fight the battle. My Story
This September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!
Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.

26 Sep 2024Yesterday was excellent day for Renuka. She underwent for 3 month follow up whole body PET scan to understand treatment response. As soon as she got her report, she immediately shared her report and talked to me. The report says ".... previously noted mass lesion has shown complete interval metabolic and morphological resolution." We literally cried joyfully over the phone. We were so happy to note that the medicine is responding her very well. I am thankful to all my supporters for their donations and keeping my spirit alive for Renuka, Long way to go for the medicine supply. Renuka and her family are still fighting for availability of low-cost medicine. Thank you for your support and prayers.

Fight beyond the boundry
7 Sep 2024I met Renuka in India. She is very positive for her cure. She has non-small cell lung (NSCL) cancer, EGFR gene positive. She is on targeted therapy. Osimertinib is the drug from AstraZeneca which inhibits EGFR's Tyrosine kinase (TK) activity. Low cost Osimertinib drug is available from Bangladesh, however, due to political crisis in Bangladesh, it is difficult to get the drug in India and many patients suffer for unavailability of low cost Osimertinib. This treatment is very costly. If anyone from AstraZeneca, USA supports Renuka's treatment would be highly appreciated. I will be happy to connect with Renuka and her family.
