My Story

Once again I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge this September to fight kids' cancer.

The Great Cycle Challenge was the favorite charitable event of my longtime friend, former rugby teammate, & riding partner Jim Cunningham who we lost in 2022.

It was Jim's idea to first do the GCC in 2020 and he is the reason I've continued, now in my 7th year.

When Jim was undergoing his treatments it saddened him to see so many children there as well.

He often said, "Kids should be living their lives, not fighting for them."

Right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.

So here we go again raising funds through the Great Cycling Challenge in September 2026 to help these kids and support the Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
