This September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.

Another Successful GCC Event!!

We are having another successful year in raising funds for Children's Cancer Research. My wonderful friends and family have stepped up once again, specially making note of matching day, and as a result we are very close to another record setting year!

Beyond that, I have logged 583 miles to date, and I'm not finished riding for the month yet. This event is always a stimulator to get out and ride more and it is good prep for my trip to Scotland coming up soon in which my friend Andrew and I will be tackling the Bealach amongst some other memorable rides.

Through it all, most of my rides have been in the good company of my friend Laura who is also participating in the challenge. Seems there is always something memorable about our rides, like the inability to follow the Montreal bike path to meet up with our friend Gilles. Even after meeting up with Gilles and getting better directions for our return trip to the car, I managed to get us lost again! Of course, it did accumulate miles for GCC which is a part of our goal anyway. It was certainly nice to get in a few miles with Gilles while in Montreal. He's always good to draft!!

I'm not certain at this point, just how many miles I'll accumulate for this year's challenge. There's still plenty of time left to ride in September and there's still time for you to consider a donation to support Children's Cancer Research. It's my once a year ask for a cause that I am passionate about supporting.
