David Saj

My GACC journey started with my brother-in-law David Saj who cared deeply about children battling cancer. David passed away of multiple myeloma in late 2016. When David could no longer safely ride his bicycle, he gave it to me and only asked that I "use it as much as you can"... So, I have been using that bicycle ever since to fundraise for children's cancer research. David used to pray for children with cancer and so I can honor his memory by helping to prevent children from experiencing cancer. That is my goal here... and I'm doing it the best way I know how - by pedaling the bike David gave me and raising money for GCCUSA.

September 2026 marks my 11th year participating in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer...

Why? Because cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the US. Sadly, over 15,000 children are diagnosed every year. Please support my ride by making a donation to GACC. Your support will change young lives. Thank you.

Well here it is more than halfway through October… but I finally closed out my mileage for the #GCCUSA charity ride.

The first part of October was filled with chilly and breezy days.

Then this past Friday the weather was warm and sunny, so I rode the last 10 miles to hit my goal, also with the help of many generous donations, I once again hit my fundraising goal!

Thank you to everybody who encouraged me, followed along on my journey, or donated money to the Children’s Cancer Research Fund!

9/30/26 #GCCUSA Challenge

I came very close to my goal for both fundraising and for mileage, which makes me proud.

Then today I got an email from #GCCUSA that says they have extended the deadline into October, and will keep tracking my miles and allowing donations! Then they will announce the grand total that we cyclists have raised in 2026.

So I’m going to keep pedaling as the weather and commitments allow… Thank You all for your support and donations!
