My Story

This September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.

    I topped my goal of 100 miles, with a 10.2 mile ride tonight. Giving me a total of 101 miles . I feel good even with a small amount of knee pain. I'm sure it will go away. So onward and upward the new goal will be 150 miles.

    Well I'm up to 76 miles with a 13.4 mile ride tonight. Had a couple small additions in between. 24 more miles and 100 will be in the books. At that point I plan to shoot for 150. Maybe we can even hit 200. That would be awesome. Thanks to all of you that $1000.00 goal is in our sites. Keep it up and we'll get there.

    6.3 miles is the path I have chosen. 22 min give or take . I've logged 16 miles in two days . The new bike preformed as it was supposed to, so I'm good to go. I will be changing the seat as it was made for someone much younger than me.

    As we are now in the month of August, September is literally right around the corner. A friend asked me where are you going to find the time to do this . He knows my schedule is tight and that I work alot of hours.

    But this is a cause I won't back down from. I will not be denied. I will not be defeated. I'll find the time I'll find the way. 5 miles each day. With more logged whenever I can just in case weather is an issue. 150 miles here we come.

    Together we can kid childhood cancer.

    The month of September is rapidly approaching. This September I will be participating in the Great Cycling Challenge. We are looking to kick childhood cancer. My goal is to log 100 miles in an effort to raise money and awareness to combat childhood cancer. Please join me by sponsoring my ride. Together we can raise the money for research and treatments that can eliminate childhood cancer from the face of the Earth. What better cause is there than the prevention, treatment and elimination of a disease that causes pain, suffering and even death in children. I will do my part I'll log in at least 100 miles.
