In memory of Oliviah Hall & Jillian Butte

In memory of Oliviah Hall & Jillian Butte

Oliviah Brown-Hall was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme on August 2, 2017 (8 yrs). She passed away peacefully at home on December 29, 2018 at 10 years old. Jillian Butte was diagnosed with ependymoma (cancer of the brain and/or spine) in September 2011. She lost her 4yr battle against cancer the age of 10 on June 30, 2015.

My Story

This September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.

    I have lowered my mileage goal this year to 500 miles in September. I have done this for 2 reasons.

    1: My work commute is much shorter this year than it has been in past years.

    2: I will be on vacation and unable to ride during a portion of September this year.

    Anyone who knows me, knows that I will push to reach that 1000 mile mark anyway if it is at all possible. But if I do not make it, I have a smaller goal to surpass.

    I may push on the stationary bike each day while on vacation. I do not typically log stationary miles for this challenge though.
