I'm Riding For
Anthony Baker-LaViolette
Anthony was 100% boy, and we called him “Monkey Boy” because he was always in motion. He was curious, energetic, and full of life. But he also had the sweetest, most loving side. He loved taking things apart to see how they worked and building things with Legos. I always thought he would grow up to be an engineer. His dream, however, was to become a policeman and work with canines. We never got to see which dream would come true. Anthony’s life should have been so much longer. He should have had the chance to grow up, pursue his dreams, and make his mark on the world. I can’t change what happened to Anthony, but I can keep his memory alive by making a difference for other children and families. Please consider supporting my challenge with a donation. No amount is too small, and every dollar brings us one step closer to a future where children don't have to fight cancer.
My Story
Anthony was seven years old when our lives changed forever. He had been experiencing chronic headaches and vomiting, and after countless doctor appointments, an MRI revealed a brain tumor. Our healthy, happy little boy had brain cancer.
Anthony was taken from us far too soon.
As his mom, I know firsthand the heartbreak of watching a child fight cancer. I know the fear, the uncertainty, and the overwhelming feeling of wanting to do anything possible to save your child. No parent should ever have to experience that.
That is why I continue to participate in the Great Cycle Challenge and raise funds to fight kids’ cancer. I am raising money to support the Children’s Cancer Research Fund and their important work developing lifesaving treatments and searching for a cure for childhood cancer.
I ride for Anthony. I ride for the children who are fighting today. And I ride for the families who are living the nightmare we once lived.
I can’t bring Anthony back, and I can’t change the years we lost. But I can keep his memory alive by turning my heartbreak into hope for other children. Every mile I ride and every dollar raised is a way of honoring Anthony and helping give another child the chance to grow up, chase their dreams, and live the life they deserve.
Please consider supporting my challenge with a donation. No amount is too small. Every dollar makes a difference, and your support helps fund the research that could save a child’s life.
And if you can’t donate, please consider sharing my story or keeping these children and their families in your thoughts and prayers. That support means more than you know.
Anthony should have been living life, not fighting for it. Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
I ride in his memory. I ride for their future. ❤️
