This September, I am taking part in my 8th Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer! This is my 8th Summer of Healing, my way to express gratitude for the support I received when I broke my back. Riding was one of the main ways I exercised as I regained my ability to walk.

This year, I am dedicating my ride to two special families. Mason Pare is beginning a summer of treatment to kick cancer to the curb. Every mile is a way to send healing juju and support to him and his family. Secondly, my good friend had a cancer diagnosis this past spring. Early detection contributed to successful treatment, and Linda is now cancer-free.

Cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week. Kids should be living life, not fighting for it. I have lost friends and family to cancer and people I love are battling it now.

So, I am raising funds to support the Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop life saving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
