All children fighting cancer and my father and paternal grandmother who battled cancer.

“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” ~Matthew 19:14 While this fundraiser focuses on the CCRF, my tribute is for those children who battled cancer and lost and all those who continue to fight. Initial thoughts go to my youngest daughter's friend, who, with her parents' faith and love, an amazing group of doctors and nurses, and endless support from family and friends, is a SURVIVOR of acute myeloid leukemia and is a college freshman. My final thoughts are with my dad who lost his 10-month battle with non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma on May 27th, 2009. For the month of September, I'll do my best to complete those miles and remember in prayer all those who have lost their battles, all those who won, and all those who continue to fight cancer...ESPECIALLY THE CHILDREN. This year my mileage goal is 400 miles and my financial goal to $6,910. Will you help me reach my financial goal?

My Story

This September, for the 9th year in a row, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer! Great Cycle Challenge started in 2015, and after just 10 years, the event has grown to become one of the biggest cycling events in the United States. In 10 years, our community of riders from all 50 states has ridden a total of 33,817,103 miles, and together we’ve raised $72,646.876 in support of research to develop better treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer. While I did not participate in 2015, in 8 years, I have ridden 2,754 miles, while family, friends, and neighbors have helped me to raise $23,090.70 for the Children's Cancer Research Fund. This year, my mileage goal is 400 miles, and my financial goal is $6,910.00 to reach $30,000 raised in over the 9 years I've been a participant. Will you help me reach my financial goal? I'll take care of the miles and my own donation on Match Day, to be announced.

Cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.

Children should be living life, not fighting for it.

Therefore, I am raising funds through my challenge to help these children and support the Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
