This September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.

I have been fighting a late summer cold (and quite frankly the cold has been winning), but got out for my first ride this September. Went 25.5 miles. Felt a little tired, but was able to complete my targeted day’s goal of 25 miles.

Planning on a ride this Wednesday after work.

9/21 short ride today 25.1. Went to Jockey Ridge Dunes & Wright Brothers National Park

9/26 Not sure I am going to make my 350 miles. I had a 300 mile bike ride planned in the outer banks of N.C. THIS week, but the nor’easter that hit the east coast this week cut our plans short. I was trapped on Cape Hatteras for 4 days. I am hoping to get off the island tonight. Iwill try to get my miles in but not in September.
