I'm Riding For

Heather Giefer and Niki Giefer

Heather Giefer and Niki Giefer

My sweet niece, Heather, was diagnosed with high grade glioma infused in her brain stem in the spring of 2016. We lost her to this devastating form of cancer in the fall of 2017. Heather was faced with decisions and challenges no child she ever be confronted with. She faced her cancer head on and fought like a true warrior and I'm so proud of her! Let's continue to help fund cancer research so children don't have to receive a diagnosis like this and if they do, the future holds promise of a cure!

My Story

7 Sep 2024

During the month of September, I'll be riding for my 5th year in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer. Wednesday, 9/14/22, all donations are matched by a generous sponsor. Please consider helping with the fight to find cures for childhood cancers.

Please support me by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.

Your support will change little lives.

Thank you.

“This is for the kiddos, so they may have a chance at getting back to being kids. Also in honor of my niece, Niki, and in memory of my niece, Heather, and in memory of some friends children, Audrey, Andrew, Ellie, and Quinten. I have several connections to children who have passed from DIPG Brain tumors said to be rare. I don't think they are rare. Let's keep fighting.”
