I'm Riding For
Aunt Alice Elkin
Her spirit is as vibrant as the childhood memories she gave me—from our days at the cabin at the lake to the joy of playing at her house, those moments remain a precious part of my life. Today, Alice is battling hepatocellular carcinoma (liver cancer) with the same incredible courage she has shown throughout her entire life. She has always been a pillar of strength, raising a beautiful family alongside Uncle Bill. Even now, she hasn't lost her spark—her quick wit, infectious humor, and love for golf, bowling, bingo, and the casino continue to inspire me to find joy in every day. Though we live further apart now, our phone calls remain a cherished highlight. Alice, you are a warrior, a matriarch, and a truly beautiful soul. I am so proud to be your niece, and I am honored to be riding for you every mile of the way.
My Story
This September, I am participating in the Great Cycle Challenge to ride 100 miles in 30 days and raise vital funds to fight childhood cancer.
While I am hitting the road for the next generation of fighters, my motivation for this challenge is deeply personal.
I am dedicating every single mile to the memory of my dear friend, Nina Cottrell. Nina was an incredible person whose life was tragically cut short by breast cancer in 2020.
Though she is no longer with us, her spirit remains a constant inspiration. By riding in her honor, I hope to turn these miles into meaningful support for children who are fighting their own battles against cancer right now.
Nina’s memory reminds me of the importance of this cause, and I am honored to carry her legacy with me as I pedal toward this goal.
Please join me in supporting this mission. Every donation helps us get closer to a world where no one has to lose a friend or a child to this disease.
Thank you for your support!
