My Story
This September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!
Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
Please support me by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.
Your support will change little lives.
Thank you.

Day 16
16 Sep 2024I rode 10 miles today! It rained last night so the weather was cool this morning with clouds. I saw a bunny. I always shout, "BUNNNEEEEE!" when I see one. Many people were on the bike trail today - bikers, walkers, and dogs.

Day 2 - Another flat!!
2 Sep 2024I got up early to ride today. Beautiful Tucson morning. When I went to get on my bike I discovered ANOTHER FLAT TIRE! Bummer. However, I have a second bike and was able to complete six miles. It was a "comfortable" ride; i.e. headwinds from the east. Also, the bike is a bit big for me b/c it belonged to my late husband. I'll get the new flat fixed soon.

Day 1
2 Sep 2024Well...it was a spectacular start to my ride. I was out about 2 miles when I got a flat tire! I planned to walk to Brandy Fenton Park (a half mile) and call a LYFT. But then I remembered that there was a cafe a little further up the road and I could have a pastry and tea and call from there. I was ensconced at the cafe, enjoying a delicious sparkling citrus Hibiscus Ice Tea when I remembered there is a bike shop there! Well, he fixed my flat and I was able to ride n home. Hooray for Hello Bicycle & Cafe.
Here is a picture from the bridge where I had the flat.
