I'm Riding For
Tim Tilly
I am riding again in memory of my brother, Timmy Tilly. My brother died of age of 4 from leukemia. I will never find the right words to explain the pain my parents went through when they buried their first born. I can’t change the past but hopefully I can change the future. Please help me raise awareness of children cancer and support me in my ride. I would appreciate it if you would donate to Children Cancer Research Fund so a cure can be found to children cancers. My Story
Once again, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer! This will be my eighth year riding for children who are fighting for their lives.
Sadly, cancer is the biggest killer of children in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and even worst, 38 children die of cancer every week. Back in 1960, my brother, Timmy was one of those children who was diagnosed with cancer (leukemia) and there was little hope for survival. Timmy died in 1961 at the age of 4. The pain my parents went through of saying good-bye to their first child was so painful. I read in my mother's journal after she passed away, "The day Timmy passed away was the worst day of her life." It could have tore their marriage apart as it was as painful for my father. She wrote, "It brought them closer together."
That was in the 1960's, we are in 2026! There has been some improvements to the treatment the children are receiving today due to the research that has been done over the years. The children are still suffering from the treatment they are receiving and the number of them passing away is still too high. We need to do more ! The research needs to continue find a kinder treatment for children and to find a cure! Children Cancer Research is doing their part to help the children to give them a brighter future they deserve. I am trying to do my part even its small, but together we can make a difference.

“As it’s the middle of August, I am getting ready to ride for the Great Cycle Challenge in September again. I hope my family and friends will support the children with their fight against cancer to find a cure for this horrible disease. We have lost way too many children to this disease. As you know for the past seven years, I ride in memory of my oldest brother, Timmy who lost his battle to leukemia at the age of 4 in 1961.
