I'm Riding For
Team Ride Poppa Ride!!
I will be riding this September for my 10th year for all the kids who cannot ride because they have to fight this terrible disease. Please help us end cancer once and for all! This year my Team is for our beautiful great granddaughter Chloe and Arabella and great grandsons Arlow and Luke. They are healthy and I want to keep them that way! So help me this year to raise money for all of the kids who can't ride so one day soon all kids will be cancer free! Ride Poppa Ride!!
My Story
This September, I am taking part in my 10th year of the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!
Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.

My Challenge

26 Oct 2024First, I am grateful for everyone who has supported me this past decade! Your support has helped the Children’s Cancer Research Fund raise hundreds of millions of dollars to get much needed funding for childhood cancer treatments and research. Second, I am thankful for our team slow spokes allowing us to raise an incredible $2,438 this year! Thirdly, I am disappointed in my miles this year. Never in the past decade has it been a better time for me to get rides in and crush my personal best, but unfortunately, family health issues prevented me from rides. I had been planning to head to Missouri for a week to ride the Katy trail this year, but with my wife's injuries, I had to postpone any trips due to becoming her caretaker and helping her to recover. So I’m am not sure what I plan to do next year since anytime I have planned something, it gets changed so only thing I will do is post when I get ready to do this again next September.

Time to get ready for next month

I have been blessed with a early break from work this fall so I have plan to be in shape for the challenge next month. And start riding this month and then in September go ride some long bike trails here local and maybe one up north too!
This is the 10th year for me to ride and wanted to do it the whole month not just a few days on the weekends. So I am happy to accept donations now so if you have time please do and if you can like and share my page I would appreciate the support for this cause.
