This is a special one I'll be riding this year for my friend Raul Duran who lost his life partner Marcella Elizabeth Uvalles to an 8-year battle with brain cancer (Anaplastic Astrocytoma frontal right lobe) she passed away on April 7 just one day before her birthday. Her story She went to the hospital in Aug. 2016 for complaints of a headache to find out she had a brain tumor. She had her first surgery in Sept. 2016 and took a portion of it out. They went back in for a second surgery in Oct. 2016 to take out the rest since they weren’t able to during the initial surgery due to her brain being too swollen. She was diagnosed with a brain cancer called Anaplastic Astrocytoma frontal right lobe. She was getting regular MRIs every 3 months then it changed to 6 months after a year. It was thought she was in the clear and it was gone but after this last MRI, she found out that it had come back on the crust from where it was taken out on the first surgery and transferred to the left frontal lobe. Due to the way it was growing they couldn't safely remove it.

I am participating in the Great Cycle Challenge to fundraise to fight kids' cancer this September.

I will be riding this September in memory of Maracella Elizabeth Uvalles who passed away on April 7, 2024, from brain cancer. You can donate now but will have until September 30, 2024, I'm tired of losing my friend to this evil disease, so let's put a stop to it and find a cure.

2016 I rode my bike for Marcelle's Dad who passed away from lung cancer on July 1. 2002, after over a year-long battle with lung cancer

2017 I rode my bike for Callie who passed away on Saturday, April 7, after a 2-year-long battle with pelvic rhabdomyosarcoma.

2018 I rode my bike for Nat who passed away on Friday, April 19 after a 3-year-long battle with osteosarcoma.

2019 I rode my bike for my friend Dafne, who passed away on July 11, 2019, after a 15-year battle with Lymphoma.

2020 I rode my bike for Lily at age 3 Lily was officially diagnosed with leukemia

2021 I rode my bike for 3 yr old Lily and 1 yr old Anja.

2022 I rode my bike for 4-year-old Lily and 2-year-old Anja.

2023 I rode my bike for 5-year-old Lily and 3-year-old Anja.
