Sam Callahan & Koa Pagan

I ride in the Great Cycle Challenge to honor the memory of two incredible children — Sam Callahan and Koa Pagan — whose lives were taken far too soon by cancer. Sam and Koa showed a strength and spirit far beyond their years, and though their time here was short, their impact continues to inspire love, courage, and hope in all of us who carry their memory forward. Every mile I ride is a reminder of their bravery and a commitment to fight for a future where no child has to endure the pain of cancer. This ride is for Sam, for Koa, and for all the children who deserve the chance to grow up healthy and full of life.

My Story

This September, I’m riding in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight childhood cancer—because kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

Each year, more than 15,700 children in the U.S. are diagnosed with cancer. It’s the #1 disease-related killer of kids, claiming the lives of 38 children every week. That’s heartbreaking—and unacceptable.

I’m riding 500 miles in memory of Sam Callahan and Koa Pagan, two brave young souls taken from this earth way too soon. Every mile I ride is a tribute to Sam and Koa and a step toward ending childhood cancer.

I’m also riding to raise critical funds for the Children’s Cancer Research Fund—to fuel life-saving research, breakthrough treatments, and real hope for kids and their families.

Every dollar brings us closer to a cure. Every mile is for them.
