I'm Riding For
Connie Kuttner
One of my rides I will pedal 200 miles solo in honor of my mother who is truly loved and greatly missed.
My Story
TO MY COMPASSIONATE SUPPORTERS :
This is my third year supporting children's cancer research and I'm very happy that you my great caring supporters raised $5,124 last September for such a worthy cause. There are a lot of good people in this world and the amount of support for these children is testament to that.
Your support is very much needed and appreciated.
We welcome a cute little girl Lila who recently joined the GCC community.
She has been battling cancer and various other health issues since before birth when she had a stroke while still in the womb leaving her non verbal. Her positive and endearing demeanor is an example we can all learn from.
I will carry her in my thoughts throughout September.
On a different note over the winter I was informed I'm cleared of Melanoma which I've had since 2022. I'm now facing a new obstacle having been diagnosed needing double bi pass surgery.
I have not quit training and I will be ready. Surgery is planned for October following the event.
As part of 1000 miles I pledged I will pedal 200 miles solo in a day in memory of my mother Connie Kuttner which is by far the longest ride of my life and should take 16~18 hours ( 2 a.m.-7 p.m.) if all goes as planned. I get vertigo and have never ridden at night so that should be interesting. Anyway that is my goal. Your support is very much appreciated.
KIDS SHOULD BE LIVING LIFE,
NOT FIGHTING FOR IT
I'm raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support the SickKids Foundation to allow them to continue their work in developing treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer.
I'm @ greatcyclechallenge/riders/MichaelKuttner
Thank you for caring and supporting children's cancer research.

THE FINAL PUSH
2 Oct 2024I want to thank all donors for your thoughtful and generous support totaling $5,082. You are giving children and their families hope for their future. For that I sincerely thank you.
As planned I began my final ride at about 9:00 pm Saturday night not knowing what I had left in the tank to ride another very long ride. My plan was to ride till I couldn’t. I hit that mark at mile 208 very excited that I reached it.
Thank you all for the kind words of support for my fundraising and my rides. You are the backbone of this event.
♥️Children should be living life♥️
♥️Not fighting for it♥️

❤️FOR THE KIDS❤️
28 Sep 2024After a great month of fundraising I’m very happy to have raised $5000 for children and their families who are struggling with cancer in their lives. A great feeling to know we have made an impact by raising funds from many compassionate friends and associates. In total we have raised over $13,000 in 3 years
My riding has been limited this year so very long rides have been my choice to make up miles. I feel good about all my rides but riding a double century was the ultimate challenge. It’s why I trained 5 months this year. I’m not sure what is left in the tank but tonight I will pedal as many miles as I can ride to complete my journey.
I will start tonight 9pm planning to finish by 6-7 pm Sunday night.
This ride is for the families who lost a child during September.
I wish everyone the best and stay safe.
Ok see you at the finish line.💪🏾

HURRY UP AND WAIT
21 Sep 2024Well it’s been raining for several days just as it did last year’s final 2 weeks. I’m bundled up for the crisp chilly night air. 58*
I may not meet my pledged miles but I feel great about fundraising reaching $5025 not counting my team and still receiving contributions. Having done my first 3 weeks ago it would be a great September if I ride another double.
I’ve learned one thing. Being physically prepared is great but if not mentally prepared it may be a long miserable experience.
That said I’m here primarily to raise as much funds as possible which I started early so I can focus on riding more.
With just over a week left I’m ready to pedal as are many who sat through days of rain. Everyone stay safe and enjoy the ride.

NEVER QUIT
10 Sep 2024(Sept 7) As I did on 9/1 I once again set out at midnight 9/7 on a journey to chase the 200 mile mark. It was an extremely long day in the saddle. Riding at night is actually enjoyable with proper lighting. I pedaled 18 hours to reach 200 miles.
To all the great GCC kids we are thinking of you and inspired by your strength. You’re awesome❤️

Not quite
7 Sep 2024Sept 1). I started at midnight Saturday night in light rain prepared to ride 200 miles but it went from misty drizzle to light rain about 80 miles in. I was near 102 miles when it started raining hard. I rode another 8 miles to reach 110 and headed to my truck soaked to the bone. For a crappy day I’ll take it. I came up short but I will return to try again. It is my choice to get off my bike when I need a break. Children battling cancer have no break, have no choice so they continue their fight. Please support their plight🙏🏼

Feel the burn
16 Aug 20248/16/24
Meet Jessly,
She is 5 years old and has been living with many illnesses since an infant when a large tumor was removed from her brain.
The surgeons could only remove about 75% of the tumor leading to many chemotherapy treatments.
Jessly is a real fighter and always a pleasure to drs and staff. Her smile lights up a room.
On a different note we are nearing the end of training ( 5 months ) while anticipating an event filled month to raise funds for very sick children.
To those who support me now and in the future thank you. You are helping families who may otherwise have no support so please give hope for future generations.
My training is now up to 60 miles a day which I will continue till 8/28. Then I rest till I ride the double century. It will be a very long day ( 16-18 hours ) in the saddle but pales in comparison to a child suffering from cancer. I can stop to rest or even quit anytime. These kids have no choice but continue their fight.
I will carry you great kids in my heart.
Please support children enduring cancer by contributing to my campaign.
THANK YOU
FOR YOUR COMPASSION
